MGM Springfield will welcome a new Italian concept, Costa, to the resort’s food and beverage lineup at the end of this month. The new restaurant is set to open on Feb. 28 and takes the place of Cal Mare, which will close Feb. 24. This is the third outpost for Costa, which debuted as Osteria Costa at The Mirage Las Vegas and MGM National Harbor in 2018. The menu features housemade charcuterie and pastas, mozzarella made fresh daily, Neapolitan pizzas, grilled seafood, hearty entrees like chicken Parmigiana, and sweets like lemon ricotta cheesecake and Neapolitan cookie gelato. The bar will offer housemade limoncellos, Italian-themed cocktails like Aperol spritzes and Negronis and a robust collection of Italian wines. “Authentic Italian cuisine is a hallmark of our South End neighborhood in downtown Springfield,” said Anthony Caratozzolo, MGM Springfield’s vice president of hospitality. “We’re honored to celebrate those traditions and make new memories with one of our own original restaurants.
