Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra vs. iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max

Samsung has finally released its new flagship phones, but how well do they stack up against the latest devices from industry leader Apple? New Atlas compares the specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra to the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.Size In general, this year’s Galaxies have a taller and narrower profile than the iPhones, and are generally thinner – with the notable exception of the S20 Ultra, which is one of the chunkiest phones of recent years at 8.8 mm thick. The Galaxy S20 is pretty close in size to the iPhone 11, while the S20+ and S20 Ultra dwarf all three iPhone models. They may be generally smaller, but the iPhones are heavier overall than the Galaxies. The 5G versions of the Galaxy S20+ and S20 Ultra add two grams of weight, but that’s basically too small to really notice. Phone manufacturers always seem to scoff at color as tacky, and banish it to the lower-end phones. As such, the iPhone 11 has all the fun options of green, yellow, purple and red, but if you want the higher-end Pro or Pro Max you’ll get either the muted Space Gray and Midnight Green, or the business-casual gold and silver. Samsung gives its higher-end customers the “...

Bike riders love ‘new’ – new bikes, new kit and new products. But sometimes we find

Bike riders love ‘new’ – new bikes, new kit and new products. But sometimes we find a product that we like, that works for us, and we don’t really want to change things up, especially when it comes to personal aspects such as hydration.Asked to review another new hydration product not so long after I spent a month drinking a brand that I liked enough to take it to France on a recent trip for Bicycling Australia, I wondered…really? Can there be anything better than this? What could be different about PREPD? Then I spent some time chatting with Nathan Hocking and his team and learnt a thing or two about this new product. Namely, it isn’t a hydration drink, but actually a hydration enhancer. So that idea is very new. It meant I didn’t have to quit drinking the product I had decided was ‘my’ hydration drink. I could still have it, but add PREPD to my before and after exercise regime. The theory was that PREPD, which tastes like a very nice fruit smoothie (the mango and passionfruit Prime is taken six to 12 hours before training or racing while the equally as flavoursome strawberry and kiwi Recover is taken straight afterwards) works with other forms of hydration in my body (including...

LAKELAND, Fla. — The City of Lakeland hopes to make red lights at a few specific intersections

LAKELAND, Fla. — The City of Lakeland hopes to make red lights at a few specific intersections so smart they will help prevent crashes. City officials will seek permission from the Florida Department of Transportation to implement new technology at four specific intersections in the hope of increasing traffic safety. The city’s traffic department has been studying red-light running at the intersection of Bartow Road and North Crystal Lake Drive. They determined that 48 drivers a day were running red lights at a point so long after the light change that crossing traffic already had a green light.  There is normally about a one-second delay between a light turning red and crossing traffic getting a green light.  The city’s proposal involves new radar-equipped sensors at the intersections that would be able to tell if a driver is about to run a red light. “So what it will do is continually, every millisecond, take data of moving traffic and it will compute the speed by radar and the distance from the intersection,” said traffic operations manager Angelo Rao. Using that data, the sensor would be able to tell if a driver is going too fast to stop in time for ...

Zacks.com featured highlights include: MEDIFAST, NVR, Universal Forest Products, EMCOR and AllianceBernstein

Chicago, IL – September 5, 2019 – Stocks in this week’s article are MEDIFAST Inc. MED, NVR Inc. NVR, Universal Forest Products Inc. UFPI, EMCOR Group Inc. EME and AllianceBernstein Holding L.P. AB. Return on equity is an investor-favorite metric when it comes to cherry picking quality stocks. But ROE doesn’t always tell the complete story and an investor might get fooled by picking stocks based on this number. Thus, taking a step beyond the basic ROE and analyzing it at an advanced level or applying the DuPont technique seems to be an intriguing idea. The DuPont analysis allows investors to assess the elements that play a dominant role in any change in ROE. It can help investors to separate companies having higher margins from those having a high turnover. For example, high-end fashion brands generally survive on high margin as compared with retail goods, which rely on higher turnover. In fact, it also focuses on the company’s leverage status. A lofty ROE could be due to the overuse of debt. If this is the case, the strength of a company can be uncertain if it has a high debt load. So, an investor confined solely to a ROE perspective may be confused if he or she has to ju...
